Autumn in the Isarco Valley is the perfect time for a little escape: warm autumn colours, golden vineyards and chestnut trees full of ripe fruit. Spend 4 days and 3 nights, from Thursday to Sunday, at Profigl Eco Guesthouse and discover one of the most beautiful cultural landscapes around Bressanone.
The highlight of your stay is a hike along the Chestnut Trail, the famous Keschtnweg of the Isarco Valley.

Discover the Chestnut Trail

For centuries, chestnuts were considered the “bread of the poor”, providing an important source of food, especially for people with fewer resources. To this day, chestnuts hold a special place in the Isarco Valley. The Keschtnweg, or Chestnut Trail, begins at Novacella Abbey and stretches for around 90 kilometres all the way to Vilpiano, passing through one of South Tyrol’s most characteristic cultural landscapes.

Our hike starts in Chiusa and first takes us to the historic Sabiona Monastery. From there, we continue along the Chestnut Trail towards Velturno, walking through beautiful chestnut groves and enjoying stunning views across the Isarco Valley.
Along the way, we stop at Huber Farm Tavern, where you can enjoy traditional South Tyrolean specialities and recharge your batteries. The day ends with a visit to Velturno Castle.
